Yeah they definitely made some significant upgrades. Lots of new features that give a more "residential" feel. Haven't seen firsthand, just on the web. Thats probably a good thing though, or the wife would want to trade in!!!

We are also located in Alberta. We are retiring in 2012 and looking at a Seville. We still would like to camp in Alberta with the odd trip south. How does the Seville hold up to Alberta camping?

We bought ours at Arbutusrv.ca (Tracey in Courtenay)

They have a pretty good sale on now and would give you a price comparison

We live in Alberta and we have the VF35CK Seville and find it quite comfy even in cold weather, which of course we have had a lot of this summer in Alberta. I am a bit afraid of propane so when I am on my own I tend to just put the fireplace on for 1/2 an hour to warm up the place. Â*I also notice that the hot water stays warm all day long even though I turn the heater off as soon as I finish the breakfast dishes.
We plan on eventually taking our trailer down and parking it in Arizona but for now we have it parked at a seasonal lot here in Alberta. We plan on retiring hopefully within the next 5 yrs if the kids/university ever stop sucking away all the savings, lol

Probably a dumb question but what exactly are slam baggage door latches as mentioned above?

Hi Albianne,

My 5 year plan went out the window, now the kid wants Medical school.... Slam doors open from the bottom up on hydraulic cylinders and when they close, they "latches slam shut". Like your car trunk. Unlike ours that open out from the sides.

I totally don't trust the latches on my unit the way they are now, I mean the only thing holding them closed is the 1/4 inch or so of metal that clips behind. Â*It seems like they could jiggle open while on the road and then not only would we lose our stuff but the door would get destroyed banging around. Â*I wonder if the slam door latches could be added as a mod?

The latches you have will hold up to the road just fine, that does't mean don't upgrade though. We have put many a mile on the standard latches and never lost a thing. Edited by: Chrisnan23

Our trailer has held up exceptionally well. Towed around 25,000 km (15,000 miles) and camped in 3 provinces and 7 states. Everything from blowing snow and -10C, hail and rain, to 40C above (105F). Love the fireplace, use it lots when it is cool. Dry camping in the mountains to fullhookups with 50 amppower in Utah. 54 nights last year, 48 so far this year.We love it.

We took delivery on our 2011 35CK about 2 weeks ago. We've not towed it far (20 miles maybe) but it really seems to pull well.

The only thing that we're waiting to get corrected (waiting on me mostly) is to go from the rv king bed to a standard queen. The factory bed is a bit questionable so we're replacing it with an Ikea memory foam queen shortly. We can't wait to get it out on the road.

I've got pictures that I can post up if you all think that would help others.

Thanks

Al

The king in the Seville is standard size. We replaced ours this spring, and that has been by far our best improvement to the unit. Curious why you want to switch to a Queen?

More room in the front around the bed and we have a bunch of queen bedding from our old Sunnybrook.

If you can do a measurement on your mattress. The one that came in the camper is 72"x78" & according to a number of sources, the standard king is 76"x80 which wouldn't fit (not enough width without taking out the nightstand and the slide would have to compress the mattress a little when it retracted). The factory mattress wasn't real good (I wish I had put that as part of the negotiation on the camper) so it has to go. We'd modded the Sunnybrook with a memory foam topper and that really helped but no amount of foam would fix this one. It was just too soft.

I imagine that putting a standard king into your Seville was a bit interesting. The one we took out was really bendy, a new one might be a lot stiffer. I'm not exactly looking forward to putting the new mattress in but it will be somewhat easier since it's foam and will bend a little.

What I'm finding out is that the Seville floor plan appears to get slight adjustments over time so that while we all have the Seville, each may be a bit different in small ways.
