Looking at 2011 Seville

Hey you Seville owners, I'm interested in purchasing 2011 Seville, I own a 07 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.6l Duramax. Am I going to have any issues pulling this unit, anyone else using a 3/4 ton? Not planning on purchasing another truck,too new. The dealer says I should'nt have any problems. Thanks for your input. Opschief

I have the same truck (in a crewcab version)and I pull a Seville VF35CK. She's heavy but pulls the trailer fine at about 10mpg.

Truck is rated for 9200lbs GVW, 14,200lb Max Trailer and GCombined of 22,000lbs

If you go by the brochure weight, you would be in excess of the Max Trailer capacity by about 1,200lbs but under the GCWR of 22,000lbs.

The only way to know for sure is to look in the door frame of the trailer and their is a sticker that displays the actual factory dry weight of the trailer. Take that, plus the total allowable cargo capacity of the trailer (which includes your tanks full) and you'll know for sure if you are OK on trailer weight. Then of course, weigh the truck on the scales to get its actual weight. Lastly, truck and trailer on the scales for your axle weights.

Brian-nicola, Thanks sounds like the exact truck, mine is a crew cab also. I'm pulling a 09 Keystone Challenger now about 11,400 dry weight. no issues about 12 mpg. It looks like the difference between the Seville and my Challenger is about 1000-1200 lbs. Thanks Again.

We are also looking at the 2011 Seville 35CK and planning on pulling with our 2007 2500HD 6.6 DMax Crew Cab 4x2. I also know we are pushing the limit of the 2500HD but believe itwill bedo the joband will be safe.

We pulled a Jayco Eagle325 BHS with no problems with our curerent setup. The Seville will weight about 2500 lbs more than the Eagle did.

Alsowe do not pull our 5th Wheel at 75 to 80 mph on the interstate like we see many people doing.

The 2011 Updates to the Seville are all great, like the new rounded front cap with hitch lighting, new wood look flooring, BaggageDoorSlam Latches with GasStruts on the Baggage Doors, 32" Bedroom TV, stackableW/D Cabinetwith more bedroom storage cabinets and many more.

I know I sound like asalesman but trust meI am not, just looks to be great product to me for the dollar.

Rob_Fla Thanks for your insight. I've been looking very close at this 5'er and have plands to attend the Supershow in Tampa in Jan. I have the Keystone Challenger now 30TRL but want to upgrade,DW wants a seperate bathroom, not in the bedroom as now.



We've also looked at the Open Range both that and the Seville were at the same dealer Palm Beach RV. Haven't seen the new Jayco Pinnacle just pics. Decisions, Desicions. Will have a better idea come Jan.'s show. Thanks again.(florida-space coast)

You seriously need to check the specs on your truck. I have an '09 version of your truck and the 35CK is too much RV for the truck. The 9200 lb truck limit includes the weight of the truck, somewhere over 6,000 lbs, the weight of the passengers, full fuel load, cargo in the truck plus the hitch. Add to that the pin weight of the Seville, 2,412 lbs per the web site, and I think you will be seriously overloaded. The advertised GVWR of the VF35CK is 16,412 lbs, almost 2,000 lbs more than Chevy recommends as max for MY truck. I would suspect your 2500HD has less or the same capacity.

Speed has nothing to do with truck capacity. You need to get a 2011 2500HD, 3500HDor an older3500 dually.

With some modifications your truck will pull/handle the trailer, BUT you will be overloaded by manufacturers specs. A friend of mine towed a 41 foot toy hauler behind his 2003 Chev 2500 crewcab shortbox without issue and his total GCVW was 24,000. He added airbags, new tiresand chipped his truck for torque.Having said that he knew he was overloaded and just purchased a 2011 Chev 3500 Dually which he says handles the trailer much better. Yes you can tow it but if something were to happen like a blow out or an evasive maneuvre you could find yourself in a lot of hotwater. I towed a Seville 34CK with a Dodge 2500 for 2 seasons back and forth from Canada to Texas without issue. I also added airbags which definitely were needed andmade a difference but I also realized I was well overweight and bought a dually this past summer.

Airbags do not add to the carry capacity of the truck. You are seriously and dangerously overweight. I do not think most of the long time Crossroads Rvers would have such a set up. Edited by: artgpo

We just purchased a 2011 ck35 and i pull it with a 2007 2500HD with no problems got 13 mpg on last trip

We are at Disneys Fort Wilderness for several weeks and there is a Seville 35CKhere that is being pulled by a 2500HD too.

I will try to stop by and talk to them too about how their 2500HD is handling the Seville.
