Adding a storage door

Has anyone ever added an exterior storage door? We use our bottom bunk for the dog's crate, leaving a 3' x 3' area of dead space in the back corner of the trailer. How hard would it be to cut a hole in the side to add a compartment door so that space could be accessed from the outside?

I put one in a boat once. I am sure it can be done. Might want to check out if it causes any warranty problems.

Main issue is the studs. Probably aluminum and 16" on centre but I am not sure of the construction of your Zinger. If you only want a small access, you coud go between two studs and even do a vertical door (higher and narrow) but you would need to remove the inside panelling first to see what you have for wall construction and if there is any electrical running through there. Best bet is to start doing some exploration of the wall and then work from there. That will probably tell you in a hurry if it's possible. The parts are easy to come by for the hatch and seals, hinges, latch etc.

Shouldn't be too bad. You will likely want to buy complete baggage door before even thinking about starting. I will look on external drive at home - I can email you some photos from the factory that may be of use.

Also, try reaching out to Crossroads. They may be willing to send you photos, etc. with some information on installation.

That's why it didn't work out so well! lol. Put one in a bench seat. Made for a nice access.
