Adding light to front storage bin

I had hoped to pull 120V to the front bin and run some simple lights but theres no good (non warranty killing) 120V donor site. So i decided to go with a 12V wall mount light.
Found one on sale at Camping World and picked it up today. 12-Volt Universal Porch/Utility Light with Switch – White Base - Husky 51226 - Light Fixtures - Camping World

I'm going to feed it from the light that already exists on the passenger side. Not sure what wire size to use. I have a lot of old monster brand speaker wire, wonder if I can use that?

Anyone know?

That will work but will be overkill if it's the large wire I am thinking of. All you need is a length of stranded 14ga (or 16 will work). You can get it at HD, Lowes or Ace.

Stan is right , just take the existing light off wall and match up that wire. That is what I did ,now i have a light on both sides. I mounted mine just above the compartment door.

Got the light installed, feeding it from the original light on the passenger side. I'll take some pics this weekend and put them up.

You made the right choice going with 12v. Many times off of shore power is when you need to access. Now there should be no need to worry about warranty issues.

I thought about the led light strip myself. They are pretty cheap and having the light all the way across would be nice.
