MIK,
I have not done that but have seen awnings of all shapes and sizes at CW so I'm sure you can do it. We are actually considering them as they are a nice energy saver in the hot summer. Anything you can do to assist with the cooling is a good thing.

Jim

Thanks Jim. In the size we want it's actually a bit limited, because we are in between a window size and a standard awning. It's really just to cover the kitchenette for rain and an EZ Up is awkward. But I'm working on a custom awning.... Will have the specs and prices soon. Pictures if we we do it.

I just took an 8 x 10 poly tarp and sewed a rope bead on one side to go into the same c-channel that the awning sits in . then clamp it to the side of the awning and put a pole with rope and stake to the outer corner .
You will have to stake down the awning arms to keep awning taught .

it has worked so far . 10 minutes to put up and under $10 for the poly tarp.

Excellent ! Thanks for the great idea . Do you roll it up when not used? If so how do you keep it up there?Otherwise do you climb up every time?Or some thing else.......

Great Idea Do you need to remove the rubber downspout to slide in the rope?

some may have noticed that I also took out the fridge for the out kitchen . We rarely get sites with power ,and the extra space is good for counter top use and chair storage.also a place to keep bbq when traveling.

no can do ...in storage.
But just look at how your awning was sewn.. Have a sewer fold over the edge and sew in a 1/4 " nylon rope(yellow crap works)...and leave about a foot not sewn at the awning side so you can clamp the new tarp.

Harley you are quite the handy individual. Let's start with how you leveled the picnic table that is attention to detail. Then I like the win guard for your cooktop. The awning is a great idea. And are those mud flaps on your rig?

yes bert ,I try to be handy .and I will try out the new 'thanks' button.
2x4 firewood works for leveling and 1/4 " plywood for the wind guard will work till I get my tin knocker to fab a tin one. and yes ,they are mud flaps..really helps on the driver side as keeps crap off of the crapper valves.

This is why I love pictures. I'm a visual person and I like to look at how people set up their camps. Harley, did you have to make a bracket for the mud flaps?

I just used 90 deg shelf brackets sideways and screwed to frame for the right side ,knotch out the skirting and the flap a bit to fit the flap. The driver side I screwed to the metal frame under the slide. It moves with the slide.
