I am looking to isolate my battery, I don't have access to power all the time, & every time I leave the camper for a week the battery keeps going dead & then no power tongue. (makes me angry every time) I think I need to dissconnect my battery from the camper but is there a switch & if so what is best, can it be out in the elements, my battery sits in a vented box on the front tongue & the wires run underneath & back to the power tongue jack so what is best - any ideas & pics are best.

thanks

This is the oneI installed on our old Cruiser and it worked very well. It is for marine use so it should work for your trailer.

used the same switch that Hunter11 used on my Sunset Trail. No problems with it. I have 2 batteries since we dry camp alot and I didn't want to have to switch wires when one battery died. I ran my wiring in to where I can lift the bed and switchover from inside the trailer. No going out in the rain or dead of night when a battery goes out.

The $9 Harbor Freight cut off switch did not last very long for me. Ended up picking one up at our local rv store. Works fine.

Has anyone else had any experience with the Harbor Freight battery disconnect switch, probably get what you pay for?

Thanks for the info. I decided to buy the type that Camping World sells. It looks like it would mount easier to the outside of the battery box since it can be flush mounted. I was able to buy it on eBay for a few bucks less thann CW.
