bunk bed ladder
We have a bunk house set up in our camper (Sunset Trail 2014 33bd) for our boys (8 and 5). The youngest especially has a little trouble climbing into the top bunk without a little help (shelf or table . I was wondering if anyone has bought an RV ladder that works well with bunk beds or has a design on how to build one that works well.

I think I saw where they are not always standard but are offered as an option from the manufacturer. I know I saw this somewhere. Have you checked with the dealer or CR?

Yes, a lot of people in the past asked the same question here on the forum. Usually if it has one, they got it from the dealer.

If you can't find one at a dealer you might consider purchasing a 5 or 6 foot ladder from Lowe's or Home Depot and taking it apart. You could use the side with the steps, fabricate a couple of straps to hook over the bunk rail and you have access to the top bunk. It might not be pretty but it would be functional. Or you can find one here: Tweetys.com - RV Parts & Accessories - RV Hitches - RV Bunk Ladders and Accessories

Don't furniture stores still sell bunk beds? Don't they also sell the ladders for them? May be cheaper than a Camping store or RV dealer.

You might want to consider a small three or four step folding ladder for indoor use. Then you can also use it for other things, like getting into some of those high cabinets, cleaning stuff off the slides, etc.

I'm truly surprised that all bunk houses don't have a ladder. Both of ours came with ladders. Camping world has a nice one and I believe it just went on sale.

We got our ladder from an Rv dealer near us. You should be able to get one just about any dealer that has a parts dept. Online also at Amazon
