Cabinet lights

The dark cabinets drive me nuts, it's like digging in a dark cave. I added LED strip lights with a magnetic switch to the pantry cabinet and both sides of the master bed. What a huge difference! I used white LED strips off Amazon and a magnetic switch that turns them on when the door is open. Hardest part was running a little wiring from the nearest 12volt power source. Pretty simple install.

Wouldn't be without them now...

Nice! I've been meaning to do the same thing with a mercury switch for under the bed. I brightened up the dark bathroom with a strip under the vanity and another around the skylight over the shower (waterproof, of course) tied into the over head light so everything comes on at the flip of a switch. I liked them so well I hooked up some in a couple of dark closets in the house.

I use the cheapest ones direct from China on the slow boat via Ebay and have had no problems. I think LED tech is reaching maturity.

Cool, very nice mod. I use battery operated tap lights. Yours are better.

I used two short led strip lights and a push button E-switch to light up inside the switch panel area.

Marty, could you include the Names/Part Nos. off of Amazon, I would like to do this same thing. Also curious as to where you tied into power?

Thanks,

Barry

No problem, below are the parts I bought. I used 2 lead speaker wire for power/ground wiring. I got power from the light above the bed, drilling through the inside edge of the cabinet.

Magnetic switch:

LED Strip lights, trim to fit:

Very nice Mod! Where did you pull the 12v power from? The small overhead light over the bed?

Yep, just tapped into the wiring at the light over the bed.
