City water attachment replacement

Has anyone had to replace the city water attachment on the outside of the camper? If so what did you use, not a fan of plastic that this is made out of, I do like the ease of working with the pex. Which the pex tubing didn't fail the plastic where the hose attaches to failed. This is where you attach the hose to when you have water at the campsite. Mine sprung a leak and flooded the inside of my camper.

Thanks in advance.

Here are a few that might be what you are looking for. I have used the Marshall one with good luck for many years.
I hope this helps.

We had similar problems. I attached my straight line regulator directly to the city water connector. At the source I attached my pricey water regulator and filter before the white hose, and then into the trailer. I no longer have a leak. So far, so good. I don't understand why the cheap regulator prevents the leak, but it does.

I replaced mine with a metal one from Amazon easily and without resultant issues. The plastic original was ok but I was adding a heavy brass pressure regulator with gauge. Just check for leaks over a couple of days once installed.

This reminds me that even with a new rubber ring mine is leaking too.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I changed it yesterday with a metal one. The one thing I noticed and am guessing it would have fixed was there was no thread tape on the original one. That is a guess, I am not a plumber or an engineer.

With the pex fittings it has rubber type cone that seats on the inside of the threads so thread tape isn't required, but won't hurt either.

Don't hang the regulator from the trailer unless you have a 90 degree elbow to allow it or the hose to hang straight down thus putting less stress on the part you just replaced. Reg should be put on post tap to protect hose too.

The hole in the floor on the basement for your water connect, etc. has always been a sore spot for me, and some of you other guys. This is what I have done to close it up and still be able to hook my water up,plus keep the critters out.
With this setup I don't have any dripping or leaks, and if it did leak it would run out the hole in the city water connection I used.

This is what it looks like to start with in the basement.
I removed the fitting that closes the hole.

These are the parts I used. The fitting (city water connector) is on the left, and can be purchased at any RV shop. (I think) You have to knock the one way valve out of it.The wood parts I made, should be one more there, but I guess that one was camera shy. The two black parts are what I removed from top side.

Finished view from top.

Looking up from the bottom with the cap off ready for the water hose.

View from bottom with cap in place.
Should close it up just fine and keep it nice and clean.

Yes I know harley. I was just trying to show another way of installing a city water connector and maybe not have to worry about leaks as was mentioned.

That's a neat clean job, one question, now you have to stand on your head to connect hose on the under side or do you just feel around? I see quick connects on the short inside hose but not on the underside.
