electrical hatch opening

I did not like the way the electrical hatch on my Sunset Trail 29RL left a gap when the cord was out. So I super-glued a piece of bike innertube on the inside.

The swivel latch still closes when the cord is inside and when the cord is out, the rubber bends and closes the gap.

Nice mod! I plan on closing ours and using a twist lock connection. Much more cost than yours.

Yeah...you got that right!! Just did park power conversion on my TT, you can probably save a few bucks and just get the two ends vs the whole kit. Sure makes it nice not having to shove the cord back into the boot-box size area!

nice. when i opened my trailer this year i went to move my power cord and some bees flew out. they made a small nest. i'm going to do this one. thanks.

Nice mod! I justtuck a plastic grocery bag around the cord to fill in the gap when I am connected to shore powerand then when I disconnect I use the plastic bag to wipe off the cord as I put it back in the camper. My method has worked fine but your idea looks better! Another mod to add to the list!

Cris, you must be installing a "30amp flanged inlet"
I have one on order. I'm hoping this will be my last mod this year. Getting tired of working on it. Hope to start using it more.

Very nice. Thanks for the idea. It is on my list now. I never have liked that gap left when the cord is out and hooked up to power.

I have friend who is an electrician. He is getting one for me.
I have seen them on line also. Just put search into Google for a "30 amp flanged inlet"
