Entrance Steps

My female Dachshund has IVDD, Intervertebral Disc Disease. She has a bulging disc in her neck. Over the last 4 years she has had a couple of severe bouts with it resulting in crate recovery for a month once and 3 months the second time.

My Sunset Trail has the standard Lippert 3 step 9" rise entrance steps that are very difficult for a miniature Dachshund. I bought a set of Hickory Springs Extruded Aluminum Quad 7" rise steps. These should be much better for her.

These installation was very easy. I did it without assistance.

The first photo is the old Lippert steps removed. I used a couple of floor jacks and boards to lower the old steps and raise the new ones into place.

That should be a big help for her. For awhile anyway. Sad part is, that type of thing doesn't seem to ever get better. We just have to do all we can to help them with their issues in the mean time.

I went to the four step from a three step also. What I noticed, was the first step out of the camper wasn't to much difference between the two.

Nice steps. The things we do for our fur babies. We have doggie steps in our house and usually bring a set when we go camping. However we just lost our 8Lb- 19 1/2 year old Schnoodle in March of this year. First summer camping without him and it's been tough. We still have a 8 year old 6Lb Teacup poodle.
