Faucet Replacement

Anyone replaced their RV faucet with a regular house model? The one in the bathroom barely gets over the sink bowl and we always end up making a mess on the counter. Any special considerations there?

I replaced mine with one that I got at Lowe's. I agree that the original is a pain to use because it doesn't come out far enough. No problem with the installation. I had done the same thing with my previous little trailer as well.

I found when I replaced my kitchen faucet with a large arch type, i had to extent the pex pipe, which is easy using Shark bites sold at lowes or homedepot

Angry Kitchen Faucet Horror

We left for the beach and returned less than an hour later to find that the cold water handle had let go and the water pump emptied into the trailer . Looks like the threaded plastic collar cracked. I am waiting to hear from CR on the make and if there have been any other similar incidents. By reading some other posts, I better not hold my breath for a reply. I am going to replace with better quality on all fixtures before another one let's go! If anyone has had similar experience or has replaced with better, your suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

I have seen several of these fail on all makes and models. I think they are over tightened and then fail.

What model of faucet did you find at Lowes and was it an exact fit into the counter top as the original>

Thank you

yes it fit fine, I did have to lengthen the pex a little. The pex should be 1/2 make sure before you cut it.

Last summer we replaced the Bathroom Vanity Faucet and yesterday I finished replacing the Kitchen Sink Faucet in both cases we installed shut off valves under the sink.

Kitchen Faucets: There is very little room to work under the kitchen sink and I needed to remove the drain plumbing to be able to reach the bottom of the faucet. It would have been easier if the shelf had been removable. If you decide to install shut off valves be aware they are directional there will be an arrow somewhere on the valve. Heating the pex with a hair dryer helps in forcing the pex onto the new valves or removing them from the old.

Vanity Faucet: The water plumbing seemed to be easy but getting the tailpiece to work with a drain lever was a challenge. The tailpiece is made for a residential sink with an overflow; I needed to cut off the tailpiece just above the overflow port. I then needed to then modify the plunger by drilling a hole for the actuator lever.

Both look great and DW is Happy.

Or you could have just replaced the faucet and not hooked up the drain . just keep the original drain.
