fender repair

We have a 2016 Sunset Trails GR, 32RL with a small crack in the bolt/screw on fender I would like to repair.
Can anyone recommend a product to use and if I am dealing with plastic or fiberglass?
I like the JB Weld products. Any other options that have worked well?

Thanks

If it is a stress crack, you can try a plastic cement. Make sure whatever you use is safe for plastic. Don't use cyanoacrylates like super glue. Also, I used a backer piece of plastic for reinforcement.

if it is from oxidation, that is . a different story. When that started to occur on the fender of our last trailer, it essentially marked the beginning of the end for the fender. The technical term I believe is photo-oxidation. Similar to rust, once it starts, difficult to combat. I tried glues and plastic welds. Not much help since the UV breaks down the integrity of the whole fender making it brittle. The cracks are just from the stress of the contact points where it's screwed into the trailer. I'd be interested if anyone has had success with the brittle. One idea i had was to plastic-dip coating the whole thing, but it will also make it significantly heavier hanging on the screws, further stressing the contact points.

What color is your fender..tan?

Just keep in mind the effort to try and fix them. You can replace them for about $200.

I used fiberglass mesh and resin on the back side. Perfect for fixing and strengthening

the fenders.

I needed a replacement living room skylight as it became brittle and found a company called icondirect.com. That site referred me to the Canadian site. I found out company is 50 miles away from me when they shipped the part. While looking for it I found they had fenders which had the name “secure stance” in it.

Nice find. I’m impressed they have the parts catalogued by model and year. I’m sure I’ll be needing this site within s couple years. 100 thumbs up to you [emoji106] x 100

material

Thanks, everyone. It is just a small crack at this point and something I would like to try and repair to start.
It is tan.
So, do I assume it is plastic as the replacement fenders are?
Will a fiberglass repair patch work on plastic?

Thanks again

Yes, it's good for many different surfaces.
