Few small mods to our 2019 262BH

I added some weather strip to bedroom doors to get rid of the small gap when closed. Also added a lock for a bit of privacy when needed. Added a small TV to the bedroom. I also added a vortex II fan to the roof vent in kitchen area.

Where did you find that latch? I would like to add that to our 262BH.

Can that latch be actuated somehow from the outside of the bedroom? If not, I'd be concerned about little kids locking themselves in.

Related, it seems like not putting a lock on bathroom doors is becoming a thing. Of all the dumb things RV makers do, not putting a privacy lock set on the bathroom door is right up there. I just don't understand that.

We are doing some upgrades also this week. Picking up the trailer this morning from having the new roof put on. The guy replaced the gears in our jack, and gave us a new battery for free.

I am going to be ripping out the carpet and putting down vinyl. I bought a domestic 310 porcelain toilet, and a high pressure shower head. Doing a partial Backsplash in the kitchen.

The back had 2 captains chairs. I took those out previously and put in a futon, but it was too small and low, so I am putting in a Jack knife sofa. And a table base.

All of this while camping.

Next week, I am building a bunk over the jack knife that will fold up. I am adding tvs and lights to the sofa and bunk area. I might have to rip out the overhead cabinets though.

I have too much money in this 5th wheel with deciding to replace the roof. I could have bought a newer one. But it is done and I really do love this trailer. And I love building things.

I will try to post some pictures.

Added and changed a couple more things

First I seperated the awning light and step light so they each have their own switch on the control panel. Now I can just leave the step light on at night for us to come back to.

Also I like the blue led light on the front cap but there is no real point in turning it on. It doesn't cast much light so it's really just for show. So I added two white led lights to the frame just below the cap. These two lights are connected to the blue led switched power feed so they are all on at once. Now I have good ground light in front of the camper and I think looks cool.

I love the lower lights, gives a lot of light when hooking/unhooking in the dark. I like using the blue overhead lights at night when my family goes for a walk or beacon for when my boys are playing so they always know where are camp is.

I will be adding the weather stripping to my sliding doors. Nice touch to keep them quiet.

Couple more additions

This is our second travel trailer and something that we had found as difficult as what to do with wet towels is what to do with shoes while coming and going from the trailer. Usually they just piled up at the door. So I made a narrow shoe rack.

Also I was trying to figure out a way to add a bunk ladder that didn't interfere with the lower bunk or bathroom door. So I make my own. Works by having my son put his left foot on first rung of ladder, then right foot on lower bunk, next left foot up to second rung all while holding handle at the top. This setup would get in the way of the left cabinet door that's under the bunks but as can be seen I removed the cabinet doors for our dwarf rabbit cage. Dwarf rabbits are great camper mascots by the way.

Hardest thing about all of this was matching the gray stain...lots of trail and error.

Great Mods!

I also separated the step lights ans awning light as well. That really drove me nuts!
It's nice to leave a small light on so when we come back to the camper in the dark we don't destroy our shins on the steps!

I also added in that Vortex fan, really helps to move some air around the unit

So I finally got up the courage to cut a hole in the side of my 2019 262BH and installed a range hood exaust. Some of you might be thinking, " mine has one from the factory", yup, they stopped doing that in 2019.

I was also considering doing something with the empty void above the fridge. I took the small plastic molding off that covers the fridge top mounts to see what's in there...nothing just waisted space; anyone mod this already?

Be careful with any changes to the refrigerator area as they need air flow to work correctly. And it looks like they went to a "ductless" range hood.

Thanks. I am aware of the refrigerator flew requirements. It looks like Crossroads did it correctly, there is an inner wall creating the flew. I'm not sure if I'm going to mess with it or not, seems like a waste of storage space.

Speaking of "ventless range hoods" my last trailer was as well, bad design, it just isn't a feature that makes or breaks a trailer sale so they just don't spend the time on it anymore.
