fifth wheel bicycle rack

I saw this while we were on our last trip. This guy made his own bicylce rack which is attached to the king pin on the fifth wheel. We throw our bikes in the back of the pick-up (nice to have an 8 foot box), so it is of no use to us, but I thought I would share this in case someone else can glean something from it.

For those not wanting to make their own, Arvika from Quebec makes a great fifth wheel rack that attaches to the pin box. I have had one for several years and love it. Call Arvika and ask for Guy. He will make sure you get the right model for your rig and for your needs.

I like that, but wondering how much that will effect turning.

It probably depends on the length of your truck box.

6 1/2' bed. Gotta effect it some, but does have me thinkin. No bumper, no hitch on the rear of my Rushmore kinda limits me totin the bikes around.

We have this one for two bikes on the back of our Cruiser. Works great if you have a ladder on the back.

Stromberg Carlson 2 Bike Carrier for RVs - Ladder Mount - Aluminum Stromberg Carlson RV and Motorhome Bike Racks LA-102

I strap them on better than what comes with the kit because the rear of the trailer bounces a lot. Worked well on our first trip with them on to Alaska two years ago and no problem since.

I like the looks of that one better than the pin box mounted style.
