Has anyone taken the dinette out and replaced with free standing table and chairs? If so, where did you find one that fits? I wouldn't think you could use a table with four legs because of the limited room. We have a 2008 ST27RB, and our dinette is in the slide with the sofa. Thanks!

We replaced the booth dinette in our 2005 29rk with a 36" round table with a single pedestal that has 4 chairs. We purchased the table and chairs from a local store that sells a lot of furniture to college students. We did some rearranging and moved the table and chairs to the area where the large side window is and moved the chairs to the slide area. We also removed the couch and installed a corner computer table. Everything works out great and there is plenty of room for everything.

I do like the idea of a little round drop leaf, maybe I should consider that. I'm having a hard time envisioning exactly how much room I have to play with.

Have a 29RK and we took out the dinette but left the table that was on the two posts and placed small dining room chairs that we found at a thrift shop. Gave us tons more room and now we have chairs we can place anywhere depending on how many people we have in the trailer.

I got a double drop leaf from Linon for about $240. Comes with 4 folding chairs that fit inside. Kept two of the dining chair for us to use and use the other four when we have guests. I got the light finish and put a table cloth on it.
The chairs are assembled. You have to assemble the table.
So far, very sturdy.

I found a trestle table with 4 chairs on Craigslist for $50. The table top was just laminate but I took it over to my son's and he happened to have a cabinet grade piece of birch plywood in his garage, so he cut me a new top and put it on the base for me. I reupholstered the seats with new foam and padding, using a $3.00 a yard fabric! I think it looks pretty good.

Our unit came with a small rectangular table and four chairs. While it was big enough for two it was attached tot he floor and could not be moved to allow more room around the table. I was in Fred Meyer on day and saw a 42" round table where to of the sides folded down. I bougt it fro $130 on saleand replaced the factory table. I did not attach the new table to the floor because I wanted to be able to move it out so 4 could sit comfortably. On three trips so far the table did not move while traveling. We also bought a small island with wheels.(Fred Meyer again) This unit fits between the slides and is easy to move. It provides added counter space and storage. When we eat we also use it as a side table for the hot dishes leaving more room on the table.

seeing your old post about the neat table you put in your cruiser....did you attach the table to the floor or is it REALLY free standing? The table we are getting in our newly ordered 28RKX really looks to small for four chairs...want a bigger table or one with leaf.

The table is not attached to the floor. I was concerned about it moving too but so far it has stayed put an some rough windy roads in Montana. The island we got has wheels and when we travel we lock the wheels and it does not move either. Hope this addresses your concerns.

Our 2011 unit came with a free standing table and four chairs. I would think you could contact crossroads and order one from them. With ours however since it's just the wife and myself; I unscrewed the base from the floor and turned the table sideways to give us more room and so we could look out the window while eating. We usually leave two chairs at home unless we have family going with us. If we do have company we just place one person on each end and twoin the middle instead of the way it was with two chairs on each side. Here is ours after I moved it. Yes, I did re-secure it to the floor.

Been thinking alot about the table you bought....looks great......
Thinking in hilly situations, you could turn the table upside down during traveling....
Waiting til I get my trailer, before I can decide.....but the table looks really small to me...

Papa-T, when you say you resecured it, did the screws go back into the same holes when the table is turned, or did you have to add new holes.
thanks,
Jim

New holes. The screws are wood screws so they just screw right into the flooring. I think I had to remove a small wood cap that hides each screw head. Really simple. Gives us alot more room. I also replaced the light overhead the table. I kept smashing my head over it. So, I replaced it with a standard double light. Like the one over the sink. or in the bedroom.

We freed the table from the floor shortly after we bought our 5th wheel, and have traveled from Mich to Maine to California and back with no problems when the unit is stored for travel. We did it so when we have company, we can move the table and chairs into the center of the living area. Gives us much more room, and you can open the fridge without getting out of your chair!

It could also be use as a bedside table in my caravan, and can be use it for different purposes and i don't need to worry about the space it occupy because it is portable to carry any place. Thanks for sharing.<div id="LCS_336D0C35_8A85_403a_B9D2_65C292C39087_commu nicationDiv">
