Holding tank drain

The holding tank drain on the Rushmore 35RL hangs VERY low, in my humble opinion, and not only could be compromised by uneven surfaces but possibly by road debris. Wondering if it could be changed somehow, to raise it up a bit, even an inch would be better, me thinks.

It does look a bit low in the picture. you may be able to cut some of the 3" ABS pipe and raise it up with a coupler. As long as the 2" pipe from your gray tank is on a downhill slope, you should be OK.

IMHO I would not reroute that plumbing even though it is quite low. You would be surprised how much abuse ABS pipe will take. Other than something catastrophic happening it should last for years.

That's not the best picture in the world but from what I see I would change it. Just rember stuff rolls down hill and as long asyou have pitch it will work. As stated before make sure all drains have good pitch.

</span>The sewer drain looks very similar to our Kingston. So far after 8000 mi the only problem I have is sometimes it is hard to get any fall from the outlet on the rig and the port at the campsite.

Well...the ABS might be pretty strong, but the connecting point to the tank might not be so strong. A guy at the campground a few weeks back with another brand had a situation similar, only his drained out by his back bumper. Anyway, they must have hit something and it broke the joint or cracked it where the pipe goes into the tank and leaked all weekend.

I agree, looks like the Kingston. Have never had any problems, other than flow.



Have also looked at cutting some off and pushing it back, but never got around to it. Sometimeswe will put the trailer on blocks when the sewer connection looks too flat.
