Installed window film

Took advantage of my day off too install some Gila window film. Cuts 72% of the sun rays. Wow is all I can say. This is a great upgrade in cutting the inside temp. Picked it up at Home Depot. $40. Our front bedroom window faces west. Always had to keep a pillow in the widow to stop the heat from warming up the bedroom. Not after today. After film installation. Bedroom stayed nice and cold with a/c on. Picture of dining area window by front door. Film installed on top half of window. Yes, I finished the bottom half. Also did the entrance door.

Always looking into cutting the heat down inside. Just ordered up a electric cooktop. Should save on propane bill and heating up my place.

Nice job. Was it hard? I have a tough time getting a screen protector on my phone without bubbles.

I had a little experience working with lettering on plexiglass. I do have a couple booboo's. I improved on my skills on the third one. Having the correct tools helps. They sell a install kit. Spendy but you need one. And a thin box razor helps more than what comes in the kit. Going to cover a few more widows today. This really cuts the heat down a lot...a BIG thumbs up.

When tinting car windows I would trim the tint close to size on the out side of the window as a pattern. Then use water with a little dish soap as lubricant. After cleaning the window spray the soap water on and start squeezing the tint flat from the center out.

On our previous 5er we had less than perfect ac's and too many windows,
so we got a couple different rolls of 'Reflectix' ordered from home depot and cut everything to size so it can just be pressed in when needed...

then pulled out when not....
when we traded the rv, I used the reflectix on our west facing 3rd garage door

I have done exactly the same thing. In order to protect the edges from wearing on my Reflectix window covers, I finished them all with aluminum tape. If you try that, be careful, this stuff is extremely sticky! I found pulling off the backing as I applied it works best.

In order to remember which panel is for which window, I printed labels on the computer and attached them to each panel.
