Interstate Battery SRM-27 defect after one year

Well, I bought a Crossroads28bh 5th wheel in 2014, has Interstate battery SRM-27 installed, went dead Feb. 2015. Internal short, fluid level perfect. Only one year Warranty! Sucks.
Before you buy a battery, check the internet for warranty information.

I've never had any luck with Interstate batteries.
My experience has been pretty much like yours.

My interstate died in a year also. I replaced it with an Optima Sealed AGM as well as installed a disconnect switch. Have not had any further battery issues.

When my interstate goes out I will be going with an AGM. I pick up my camper thur and I would almost be willing to bet it is dead or dies soon after unless they disconnected it.

I buy my batteries from Costco. After a year and a half in my truck, the Kirkland batteries took a dump. They were built by Johnson Controls who made Kirkland amoungest many others, including Interstate.
With a two year warranty, no questions asked, just replaced.
They have changed from Kiriland to Interstate (private label and numbering system) exclusive for Costco.
Now I have these in the truck and working flawlessly so far. I believe these are now 3 yr warranty batteries to boot!
I have AGM's in my trailer with great results, just not from Costco.

If you go to AGM batteries, isn't there a setting on the charger/converter that needs to be changed?

I checked the WFCO Charger/converter manual (that's what I have), and it is a two position selector 1 - AGM/Lead Acid (default), and 2- Gel Cell. So, you only have to change switch positions if you go to Gel-Cell. You may have a different converter/charger.

Good point Jerry. As stated I plan to go to an AGM. I have one in my boat and ATV 7yrs now and still going strong. I have never done anything to them. Hold a charge very well.
