LED Awning lights

I stopped by an RV dealer on my way home this afternoon to look at the LED lights, with the double faced tape that are made for awnings. I was thinking about putting them on the side of the RV, just below the awning - until I saw the price, $300.00!!!
Granted, they changed colors, and had something like 16 patterns, you can program them, and you can cut them to custom lengths...but $300.00? I'm sure if I wait a couple of years, the same set will be available for $39.95. Sheesh, what a rip!

You might not need to wait a few ..32 bucks plus free shipping on Amazon! If they last more than a couple seasons your ahead of the game. Mine are still going strong in my outside kitchen.

Maybe they will last longer than the sets that CR installed on my camper...I am now on the second set of LED's, and they are starting to go bad...I'l admit I was caught up in all that stuff when I bought this camper, but after looking back I think it was a mistake...Same with the electric awning...First time I have trouble with it I'll be going back to the mechanical awning....

Thanks, Mark, I just ordered a set from Amazon. By the way, I stopped there again today to pick up a $2.50 pin, and asked the cashier about the price of the lights, just to be sure. She said that if I really wanted them, she could "work a deal" for only $143.00", which I just a quickly declined. Thanks again for the heads up, can't wait to get them.

Glad to help. The LED connector on my awning is proprietary, but you should be able to hard wire it.

No problem; I'll probably go into the back of the outlet over the door. That way I can make it out of sight, out of the way, and easy to activate.

COSTCO last year had a 120acV unit 18 feet long for $40.00. The strip is weather proof but the I am not use the receiver power supply would be. Our sleeping area is now lit up like a Christmas tree.
