Ruck, I did something like that on our Seville. I got the springs and mattress from IKEA and then built a new bed frame and reattached it like the old one. Works really well, so good that we had to get a new mattress for the house.

Mine came with a short queen mattress that was nothing more than a pad. Absolutely no comfort for this 6'4" old man. Had an extra real queen mattress in the house with a memory foam top that I put in the trailer. Perfect now.

I know the feeling well. On my short list of "must haves" when we were shopping was a regular queen size mattress, no shorties, we had one of those. Added a 2" pad to the stock one and it's great....

Replaced the standard queen mattresses that came with my WW26 Toy Hauler with Sleep Number queen mattresses, just like I use in my bedrooms at home. Fits right and is the best sleeping comfort I've ever had.

We first complained about our short queen and had it replaced by the dealer, but the new one was no better. We then upgraded to the EurospringMattressfrom Camping world;

Upgraded the back room twin bunk bed as well a month later.

Very happy with these mattresses.
