I ordered and installed two black maxxair ventcovers that matched the black vents, A/C and antenna on our roof. Looks awesome. Our old trailer had the standard white ones. Did not know until recently that Maxxair made different colored covers for different paint schemes of newer trailers.

I put the black vents on also. Wish I had put differant ones on. They don't let in any light and you can feel the heat when the sun is shining on them. They do look good but not a good choice for me. Live and learn!

We had the two vents (bedroom and bathroom) replaced with Fan Tastic Vents. I just recently found that Fan Tastic Vent also makes vent covers for these in white, black and smoke colors. We tried ordering the smoke colored vent covers from Camping World but they keep pushing out the date they will ship due to being back ordered. We found the black ones elsewhere and are now just waiting to receive them so we can get them installed, will post pics once we do this. Does anyone have pics of how theirs look?

Any pictures or updates would be good. How hard is installing one of these Maxxair vents on the roof or is drilling into the roof something the dealer should be doing only when the trailer is still under warranty? I am curiousto see the smoked maxxair cover.....
Thanks

My husband installed the max air ventspretty quickly and easily and he is not all that mechanically inclined.
We have the max air 2 in smoke up front above the bedroom and the regular max air vent in white above the bathroom.
Kagex- if you look at my picture below, it is tough to see but the smoke max air vent is in the front.

they don't crew into the roof, they screw into the metal band around the side of the vent (no holes in roof),takes maybe 30 minutes to do the first time and maybe ten after done a few times, have actually moved them from old camper to newer on before,(no trade in value)

i put the black ones on our trailer and it looks great. To put the 2 on it took me about an hour for the 2. Added some chalking around to make sure of no leaks even though they don't screw into the roof just to be safe.Super easy to do and takes very little time.

I installed the whiteCamping World covers. They went on pretty easy and quickly, although i though self tapping screws would have cut the time in half. I wasn't too worried about the light coming in since I like to be up early to get the fishes.

Black ones on all three of my vents. Love them. Dealer installed as part of the package when delivered new, so can't speak to ease of install. I climbed up and looked on delivery and looked pretty basic.

Thanks guys, My only concern as stated before is if the black ones will let any light in? Or will going the smoked route be better? I think white on my trailer will look real tacky.

Here are a couple pictures showing the two fantastic fan vent coversI installed, very easy to do. I ended up going with the black ones as the smoke colored vents were not in stock when I wanted them, I've been very happy with them so far and like the black color as it matches the AC and other vents.

The only time I really notice any amount of light is at night so if you are concerned about getting enough light, go with the smoke colored vent covers especially over white ones, the Sunset Trail Reserve trailers don't have enough white color anywhere where it would look good IMHO.

What is the purpose of a vent cover? Do you have to buy special ones if the fans are Fantastic Fans or will the MaxxAir work?
