For everyone that wondered what was under the step heading to the bathroom/bedroom in a 30SK. Here are a couple of images.

I am taking the carpeted step out and putting in an oak step that will have a storage spot under it for my shoes.

Here are images from Day 1. There are a lot of wires under here, but there seems to be enough slack to move them to the back and put them in a split conduit.

I did notice that there is an opening here to the outside. I saw that someone installed a exterior outlet near the door. I will be doing this at the same time since the wires will be easy to run.

As I complete this project, I will update the images.

After taking an opportunity to install an exterior outlet behind the door, I started to build the step.

Got the wires pulled together and started to build up the supports. Next I will be putting in the wall coverings and then the step. Should be ready to start staining the pieces tomorrow night.

Mod is now complete. Installed an Oak step to replace the carpeted step. Added a place to store our shoes overnight and have access to the wire run under the floor.

Overall, This took more time than expected, but am SUPER pleased with the outcome!

I have "Handyman envy". Okay maybe another envy too. You guys who know their way around craftsmanship really show the rest of us up.

Your handy work is excellent and a great use of wasted space. Keep on modding and keep on posting the mods.
