Ok, so it is less of a mod, and more of a repair. When we were in Colorado this spring, we stopped at Camping World and got some stuff, including some chairs. We both love them, but I managed to break one. The closest Camping World to me is about 800 miles away, and I did not have the reciept, so I ended up fixing them myself.

Now for the pictures:

On the right, you can see the plastic pieces that came on the chairs. I broke these trying to recline by pushing with my feet. I tried to superglue them back together, but no deal. Second from the left is my rough draft of a steel replacement, to get sizing down. One end slides in a tube, the other end slides over. And it has to allow the chair to fold up. Far left is the final piece, welded up, ground down and spray bombed.

I used pop rivets to re-attach these. I would have liked to find rivets that were about 1/4" longer, but I couldn't these seem to be working fine so far.

I am quite fond of these chairs, but for the money, the construction leaves a bit to be desired. I didn't want to toss them and try to find something better, but I sure came close. Glad I kept them and fixed em up.

lenny,

Great job, but now that you have posted the pics, everyone else will be wanting to buy replacement parts from you. You may have to stop traveling
