Purchasing a new 2011 2500HD tomorrow. Have a trip planned for the 7th for a week. Alot to get done with having new rails installed in the back for the fifth wheel hitch, plug in rear inside bed for fifth wheel hookup.Bed sprayed and running boards. Mocha color. Not bragging just excited, except for the payments.

Is yours the diesel or the vortec? I have the diesel and it is amazing, I can hardly tell that I'm pulling anything!

Mine is the Vortec; 6.0 My wife can't stand the smell of diesel, it makes her sick, really. Mine arrived Tuesday. Wednesday I had the bed sprayed by Line-X, stainless step tubes, fifth wheel rails in the bed and a fifth wheel electrical plug installed inside the rear bed. The brake control that comes installed from the factory is really smooth, It doesn't jerk me around like the aftermarket one I had installed on my last truck. Just took a short dive with the Fifth wheel to check everything. Leaving this Sunday for a week camping trip. Wish me luck.

New diesels do not smell. My 2009 has virtually no exhaust smell. The 2011 have no smell.

Congrats on the new truck and best of luck on your trip. Let us know what you think of the 6.0 and pulling the trailer after your trip. I have the same truck and motor (05) and it does a really good job considering I am right on the edge of having to much trailer.

Well after my first trip with the new truck. I can honestly say it's GREAT. The factory integrated trailer brake controller makes the world of difference. No more adjusting the brake control between highway and stop and go traffic. Nice not to have the jerks. The StabiliTrack Electronic Stability Control System makes the control less stressful. The Auto grade braking holding power on steep mountains really is nice. Another feature is the Hill Start Assist that actually holds for 2 seconds when taking off on a hill without any roll backwards. Also I really love the full auto trailer mirrors with the large blindspot lower mirror. Great pulling and stopping power. Great short camping trip. I have another short trip planned for Labor Day weekend and then my favorite two week trip to OBX of NC the first of October. Praying the storm wasn't hard on them. All in All great truck.

Nice to hear that the 6.0 L worked so well for you. I have a 2009 Crew cab 6.0 L and I uve it and am currently considering a CF 335SS. Nice to hear that it pulls well.
