new use for Eternabond

I was re-caulking around the metal corner trim of my Cruiser the other day and got to thinking about using Eternabond instead. That should give a good permanent waterproof seal and cover all of the screws where moisture can get in. Other than the cost is there any other reason why this is stupid? The tape is white, the metal trim is white and the siding is white.

Just remember, the edges of that tape is sticky and will collect dirt. It might not look real pretty after a period of time.

Thanks. That is the kind of information I am looking for. I knew there was some reason it is not normally done

Corner seal

I used a Dicor product. Very similar to eternabond but is meant to be installed under the corners. remove the corners, clean off all old caulk, press on adhesive backed (very sticky like eternabond) and reinstall the corners.
I had a serious leak, sadly gone unnoticed too long. After a major repair and restructuring I used this product with confidence. There are many you tube videos etc using the product. Amazon had amazing reviews too.
Dicor cs112B 1 Seal Tite Corner Seal Tape.. check it out.
