I had to replace my water tank filler hose, but now can't get the new one to seal completely at the water tank. The hose is called Smooth-Bor and is ALMOST completely smooth inside, but still is corrugated to allow bending. Anyone have this problem, or know how I can correct it? It's a pretty tight fit between the hose and the fitting, so I'm assuming it the corrugations causing it to seep.
Thanks!
Jim,
I had the same problem. That corrugated hose is a nasty thing to get sealed some times.
I ended up taking it off again and I put rather ample amount of silicone on. replaced the hose, tightened the clamp untill I was afraid it would strip, let it setup, and it has been good ever since.
I've tried 2 different hoses, both the same problem. After using silicone (after curing) I tightened it again and it appears to have stopped leaking! Thanks for the suggestions.
we have a new 2013 Wash Rushmore and had the same problem. Our tank will not vent when filling it also! We have to remove the hose when filling and let the tank vent causing as much water to come out as went in. It takes for every to fill the water tank and you get dirty looks from park hosts and owners for spilling and wasting water....... embarrassing. We are 10 days into our vacation and have posted 35 plus problems with our Rushmore. See my posting under Rushmore problems
