before winter. I just finished insulating the pass through and the front storage area. Used 1 in. extruded Styrofoam cut to fit tight in between the floor joist and then covered it with silver bubble blanket. I used double faced tape to attach the bubble blanket to the joist. Taped off the seams with aluminum furnace tape and then used 1/8 + 1/2 pop rivets and 3/4 fender washers to finish securing it.
I was going to wait and do it next spring, but then I remember how darn cold that cement floor is in the shed. It worked out good to do it now, I could open the big door and it faces south and the afternoon sun warmed it up real nice in there.
Best part is, now it's done.

Lloyd, it does help. Ours has been done for over a year now and the bedroom/bath area does stay warmer during the Winter and cooler in the hot Summer. Now you have one less thing to worry about over the Winter.

Glad you posted a picture so I didn't have to. I had the DW outside the trailer cutting all the material for me and handing it in so I did not have to get in and out all the time. Even with her help it took me a while to straighten back up after getting out of the storage area. It has to help some over not having any insulation at all.

Awesome, tremendous, fantastic job!!!...WTH is it?!

Old Farmer, in this case, a pic is NOT worth a thousand words. I know you did a great installation on this...show it off.

Can you zoom out a little,,,please!

Sounds like another thing for the To Do list.

If his is like the job I did there is rigid foam insulation between the floor joist in the storage areas then it is all covered with the aluminum bubble wrap and the seams and edges are sealed with aluminum AC/Heating tape to finish it all off. The links below are just for reference, I used 1" rigid foam and others have used 2".

Lynn, if you need more picturesI can try and take some next weekend when we clean out and rearrange our storage areas before our Christmas trip.

Lynn, I thought you had a better imagination.

Next project is to get rid of that flex pipe they have in there for a heat run. You can see the length of 4in. rigid laying there just waiting for me to get a little ambition back.

That wouldpretty much be what ours looks like. Lloyd, on our old Cruiser I put the heater flex pipe inside a piece offlex drain pipeand attached it to the bottom of the floor then built a wood box around it and carpeted it. Here, this will explain it in more detail. Go to the Crossroads Cruiser link on Greg's web site and then go to Paine's Pointers #20 and take a look. This is how Greg and I protected ours on the Cruiser. The one on the Paradise Pointe is enclosed so I did not have to worry about it when I did the insulation in the pass thru storage. Hope this gives you some ideas.

I looked at that mod in paines site, but I think I want to get rid of the flex pipe and put in rigid.
I just think flex restricts your air flow to much, besides we can use a little more heat in the BR. That is the weakest register. I'm hoping this will help it.
My plan is to run it right up tight to the ceiling. That should get it out of the way of floor area storage.

Llpyd here's some pics of what it looks like. You can get the pipe right up to the cross member. It is a little tight clearance for the storage buckets We use on that side but they are old kitty litter buckets and were free and they still fit.

We removed the panel and cut the pipe in clamped the flex to the hard pipe.We added some extra nylon straps to secure it and stapled them to the floorboard.I didn't use pipe hanger because I did not want to take a chance of drilling through the floor.2 elbows to tie the pipe into the bath room and 1 to make the turn into the bedroom. We also dropped the filon panel under the bedroom to replace the broken screws with stainless steel screws and found there was not a lot of insulation under the closet and around the hitch all the way back to the storage compartment actually. It was necessary to remove the front storage door to get access to add more insulation but it made a big difference in the warmth in the bedroom.Sorry that started out as a small project to replace the screws and grew into the insulation and I did not take pictures

Thanks for the pics. They will give me something to mull over on how I want to do it.
It looks like you must have opened the back wall of the pass thru where the heat pipes come out from the main heat run. Is that correct?
Nice looking job. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Our heater goes through the wall from the cabin and there is a panel in front of it to protect the pipes and hoses where they come through from the cabin of the unit we removed the panel to get the pipe further back and offer protection from the stuff in storage.we left the flex pipe from the heater in to the storage space rather than add all the elbows to take it from the heater all the way.Space is also a consideration in the heater cabinet. We were going more for protection from punctures in the flexible pipe in the storage compartment as opposed to trying to increase flow to the farthest vent. After we insulated under the overhang we noticed a significant reduction in the cold floors we had in the bedroom.
