I an not certain that I am able to comment on this. In addition to having the finest collection of sewer equiptment, Janet has a great collection of lights. Where we run into the problem(me) I am setting up the out side, she is setting up the inside. I some times get ahead of her, and grab a set of lights (out of 6) install them put up the awning, and am proud of myself. Generally I have chosen wrong. We have the Globes for bright lights. and five different sets of decrotive. Trust me it is a no win situation . She is currently trying to find long horn lights (keith she does not need ypur help)Edited by: fhenn

We have these lights. We ended up putting 15 watt bulbs in them because they were just too bright otherwise. I like that they are different colors so it adds some variety. I, of course, had them in the "wrong" order and had to move the globes so they were in the "right" order. Or so the boss claimed.

I have the same globe lights as well. I have the red white and blue colored globes and the white/clear ones. They are bright. We also have a rope light that we will put on the ground to provide some light, but not too much.

What is it with wives and lights? Mine makes me put up these crappy wire flowers with a crystal in the center. They ALWAYS are in a tangled mess. Reminds me of the annual Christmas tree stress test. I guess I should be grateful she hasn't bumped into any of your wives and gained some decoration tips!

I have several different strings of lights. Mostly we use the fancy coachman style lanterns. We found those at a local patio accessories store. But I have others stashed away we take along for other weekends depending on the mood and the camping atmosphere. I prefer the little Corona bottles or the t-bones and webers. Then there are the WSU logos (Go Cougs) for football weekends. Of course the wife prefers the simple decorative globes with co-ordinating colors.... I keep all in separate rubbermade tubs in my shed and then pull out which ever is appropriate for the upcoming trip.

"Keith you are off the hook" Frank, what do you mean off the hook?

We use to put a rope light in the channel of the awning on our old Cruiser but the awning on the PP is to high to mess with it anymore.

In my earlier post I said that Janet was looking for her Texas Longhorn lights. I said she did not need any more, I knew you had to have a sorce for these. But Patrick blew it

I am soooo glad the DW does not go to this site.

She has enough "off the wall" ideas.

I have 2 sets of lights and a sure way to have a storm come through the campground is to put them up on the awning, which is followed by a chinese fire drill to get them down and the awning away before the wind wrecks the awning. yes, i do have tie downs....try to convince her they wiil protect the awning....losing battle.[besides, I have never seen anyhing but "tacky" when it comes to awning lights.]

Sorry Frank, I am starting off a little slow today. If anyone could find them Beverly could. She decided trying to put lights on the awning was not a good idea because she figured I might hit the switch to close it from inside one day and roll the lights up in it.

I have had to take mine down quickly a couple of times when the winds suddenly picked up.A couple of years ago I found some spring loaded clips that clip to the edge of the awning fabric that hangs loose. I just tug on the end of the string and they all come off quick. When the wind or heavy rains come up fast I just pull them off, roll up the awning and stash the light string under the trailer. Once the storm blows thru I set everything back up. I have lost or broken a few but since I bought about 3X the necessary amount, I am still good for a few years.

As far as tacky goes... I guess.. guilty as charged... I have been known to change mine a couple of times over the weekend depending on what the current mood is....

shoe travel,

Been there, doing that when DW insists.

trying to, locally, find the old wooden springpins with the metal spring clip for attaching the tacky lights.
