Raising the RV via blocks and u-bolts

Longer U-Bolts and Blocks between the axle and springs:

I lost the tread where a member modified his RV
suspension with a kit that included metal blocks and long u-bolts.

Our 5^th wheel Crossroads Cruiser tows high in
the front. I lowered the Reese hitch by one position but then damaged the pin
box cowling as it became pinched between the pin box and the pickup truck box. Now
we have a new RAM and the RV rides even higher and my rear trailer tires seem
to be wearing down faster than the front tires.

We are having wetbolts installed next spring and that
would be a great time to alter the suspension.

I did this mod about 6 years ago. You can go up to about 2", I wouldn't go any higher. You can also put blocks under your spring shackles. A long block from front shackle to back. This is the approved way.

Cwit is right about putting a block on the frame that reaches full length. That will make everything even. Some have just placed the block under the shackle area, or put longer shackles in, and didn't do the center where the equa- flex is mounted. This will throw things off. Everything has to move the same amount.

Do you have any photos? Where did you pick up the parts?
Was it a kit?

There was photos posted here quite awhile back. If I remember right all they had done was weld a 2x2 square tube to the frame, then the spring hangers on that.
