Sagging Butt

I had a real problem with the ass end of my truck sagging while hooked up, put some Timbrens on it, and it really picked it up in the rear. Seems like a little more rough ride now, anyone have these installed, and alter the ride any?

I installed timbrens on my 2002F350, they really helped in keeping the truck level side to side along with handling the pin weight on the 36SK. I never really noticed the stiffer ride, although most of the time I had heavy trailers behind it.

I have had them on my truck for about 6 months now and really like them. Wethink the ride isbetter on my truckwhile towing with the Timbrens.



delqcc, how do you like your 08 F450? I have been looking at several new trucks and found a couple of 08 F450's on some near by dealer lots. All of the trucks I have been looking at are 1 ton's SRW and DRW.

I put a set of Timbrens on my dodge 1500 and it sure helped the ride with my CF29RK. However, as you have mentioned it made my ride without the trailer a much harder ride. If you hit a strong bump empty you will feel the Timbrens hit. I checked to ensure they were installed correctly and they were. I recommend that if you use Timbrens is to use them from the 1st time pulling the trailer. I waited for almost 1.5 years before adding them and I think the springs were weaker. They helped me until I could get a larger truck which in turned caused DW to want a larger trailer. Nuff said on that issue.

Yes I do! In fact, I shared your bear on the roof joke with them, and one actually liked it!! The crowd over there is a much older crowd, and damn, are some bitter. This is one of the best forums I have ever been on, good people, good information, and they still know how to have fun at the same time.

Keith, the only thing I don't like about it is that I get about 2.5 miles less per gallon when towing and bobtail. The F450 weighs about 1600# more than my 02F350 (hauler bed and transfer case/front axles) and it also has 4 wheel drive. Other than the mileage, I really love the ride, interior, all the gadgets and I can easily tell that it handles my larger trailers with more aplomb.

i put timberens on my wifes suburban. they worked out good.at my work we have about 20 pick up trucks with them on the front suspension for plows.they work well.

Daniel, thanks for the info. I have been holding off to see what the Big 3 are going to do as far as incentives and rebates after the first of the year. At this point I would buy any of the Big 3 diesel's it would just come down to who is willing to make the best deal. Plus I would sell my truck outright instead of trading.

I Pulled my camper to an axle and spring business here in Wichita to have my wheel bearings checked and greased, and by the way, three out of four bearings were almost dry, while I was there, I noticed they sold and installed the Timbrens, so I did have them put on. On the way home, after I picked up the camper, I took the long way home, around on the bypass just to get an idea of how the Timbrens worked, and from what I could tell in that short of a period, they done wonders on not only leveling my truck out, but how nice and stable it made the truck pulling the trailer. Just a note, I have the easy lube axles, I was told they do not work well, so you need to inspect and hand pack those babies. The axle place went on to tell me that they have seen several easy lube axles, that when you apply grease with a grease gun, the rear seal will blow out and grease the brake linings real well, not good!</span>

George, you joined the forum in mid-December. Winter tends to be slow on this forum, particularly around the holidays! It will pickup in the spring, say around March. I've noticed since the 1st of the year there are more posts. One thing I like about this forum compared to others is that I can read all the new posts on a daily basis. On some of the other forums, there are to many new posts on any given day to read to read them all, so you have to pick a section to keep up with!

Less flaming. If I do see flaming it is intentional as a friendly jab. I much prefer the type of forum this is compared to, lets say - RV.net.



There is a lot of good info on there but the people really get my annoyed with accusations and flaming.



This forum picks up a lot after February.
