While I was impressed with the plumbing know-how of the person who eliminated the soo called " COLD RUSH " I am retired and did NOT feel the need to save those 3 seconds.... Or to spend the hours to perform the modification....

I have found, we do not need to do the combat shower method. We have had three people take showers in a row and not run out of hot water. I keep the water heater on both gas and electric and it recovers fast enough that we all get a nice hot shower. We did change the shower head to a water saving one like the Oxegenics. The factory shower head is awful.

Sorry about the link. I was in a hurry when I posted it and have been busy and didn't realize it till just now. Thanks Mark for reposting it with out the extra http in there.

We haven't had much of an issue with the cold water rush and when we do it's just a second or two and nothing that can't be delt with like others have said by just pushing the shower head away from me.

Dad gum guys, our Rushmore gives a blast of super hot water. The other fiver we had did the cold shot. The check valve went bad, and due to we never need to winterize, I just gutted it. Bingo, no more cold water. Now I just turn the shower head away, or shield myself with a wash cloth.

Yes the "TURN AWAY" works with both cold or hot water...

Tommy, stop talking about being in the shower. The thought of it is freaking me out.
