Shurflo accumulator tank

After reading several posts about how an accumulator tank can help reduce the number of times the water pump runs, I decided to install one this weekend.

I am VERY VERY</span> glad that I did. Found that the hose coming out of the water pump was leaking (dripping) under pressure.




I changed out the hoses and added the accumulator tank. Everything is working great not and the water will run for about 12 seconds before the pump engages.

Here is a picture of the final installation. No leaks after 24 hours of being pressurized too.



This mod should have taken about 20 minutes. I would recommend always getting 2 of the flexible hoses when at the hardware store. You can always return one.

I also added an accumulator tank. Best thing I have done to the trailer. I also relocated the pump to the floor. When it was on the cabinet wall the wall was like a drum head. Reduced the noise transmitted by a factor of 10.

I did the same mod last year with the same accumulator. Sure did quiet every thing down. I just wish Shurflo's accumulator was a little bigger.

Good idea with the connection tubes. Then our water heater took to leaking we used two of them and ended the problem.

Now finish that mod and plug that giant hole going to the underbelly with some low expansion Great Stuff foam. This will stop cold drafts and also prevent mice/rodents from traveling into your trailer in storage.

Good idea on the foam. I have found a few large holes as I have started making mods. There is a huge one under the step going up the stairs to the bedroom. That one goes directly out to the skirting.
