I have a 2006 28" Cruiser and I just bought a new TV ( 2007 GMC 2500 HD Short bed ) My old truck had a full length bed. Has anyone used the Sidewinder pinbox for added clearance or will I not have a problem ?

Ask Hunter11 (Keith), he has plenty of experience with the Sidewinder.

Yes we have a Sidewinder on our trailer. Came from the factory with it as a one off deal and was installed by Lippert before the frame was sent to Crossroads. Although I do have a LWB truck and did not really need one it sure does improve cornering and backing. To be honest if I had a SWB truck I think I would go with the Sidewinder pinbox over buying a slider hitch. JMHO

Thanks for the info. I was not sure if Crossroads approved of Sidewinder use on the Cruiser.

Your unit is a 2006 so you are out of warranty so I would not worry if they approved of it or not. Lots of folks using them now days just make sure if you do get one you get the one for your Lippert pinbox.

I became a member of this forum specifically because I would like to straighten out this thread. Some people posting here have at least some idea what they mean, but use errant language in explaining. Other people are trying to learn from the posts. So far, I doubt they have learned much at all. Others yet have no flaking idea what they are saying and simply don't understand what's being said, yet that doesn't stop them from pontificating on and on anyway. The point is, I DO understand what's involved here and the basic theory and real-world results. I would love to explain it clearly. Everybody here seems to be talking past each other. BUT, now that I'm a member I can only read the first page on most threads. I know this discussion took up three pages when I looked at itbefore I joined, and I'd like to review the whole thing so that I could do a better job of explaining. Do you experience this problem? How can I see the other two pages?

Pardon my French, but what the He** are you talking about? Have you read this post at all? What other two pages, this is a one page post.

Oh, pleeeeease enlightenand straighten us out....
If you're so smart, tell us the whole process, work flow and feasibility ratios amplified with the real world results on why you can't see pages 2 and 3. Hang the basic theory, I have a specific theory..

Well, I guess I'm cracking up. I read a discussion that I could have sworn was this one wherein those conditions of which I spoke held true (people not knowing what they were talking about, etc.) Right then I joined and confirmed it on email so I could get right back to it and lend a hand to the discussion. If this is only a one page post I must have somehow gotten things wrong. I apologize for any angst this may have caused you.

BDLuke,
Well aren't you a nice guy?I have always been told that RV folks were the nicest folks you could hope to meet. Now THERE's a theory you've blown right out of the water. I've been RVing for nine years and that seemed generally to be the case until today. Now I've met two.The fact is, I DO understand what's what with this hitch. If you are going to be abusive or sarcastic you could at least be a bit more subtle about it. Or, try politeness and understanding, or have you yourself never made a mistake? Those who've never made an error should feel free to give me a hard time. You? You can go scratch.
By the way, I have a specific theory too, and it has nothing to do with RVs or hitches...

Bob,Keith, I don't think there is anything to feel bad about or apologize for. This guy comes on the forum ranting and raving on his very first post. I reread that whole thread a couple of times trying to make heads or tails out of his rant, and I'm sorry to say, I couldn't come up with any thing logical. There isn't to much credibility.

Keith -- that is a bright hat to say the least.
Lloyd -- I agree with your first post.
Motorbill -- your post did come on pretty strong. No one minds anyone putting in their two cents, always ready to listen.
