Skylight Issues in 36 DB

I just purchased a new 36 DB 5th wheel Rezerve that has a clear glass skylight in the kitchen area. I am amazed that Crossroads had not thought of a shade to cover the skylight when the sun wasn't wanted to shine in the RV. Here in Texas, the sun gets pretty hot and in the morning the sun is beaming through the skylight. My wife has cut paper to cover it but has anyone else have this same problem? What did you use to cover the skylight if needed.

Some use dark window film, I use an insulated pillow made for skylights.

I have no use for skylights because too much heat gets in. In our last trailer, I took the inner cover down and placed some block out curtain liner material on it and put it back. On our current trailer, I took the inner cover off and put some Reflectix on it and put it back. It's just a few screws. The only thing with my solution is that it is all or nothing - you either have a skylight or you do not.

Skylight issues in 36DB

Steve7---Did you purchase the shade or was it equipped with it? My skylight is approx. 16 X 31 and I only have a small lip for anything to be placed over it. Mark---I don't think a pillow would work. What is the size of your skylight pillow? I've seen the 12 x 12 x4 pillows for the vents and they wouldn't work. Thank you all for the responses. My RV is at the dealer getting some warranty work completed and when I get it back this week, I'll see if the inside edge of the skylight can be taken off and make something to cover the skylight.
