Slide out awnings

Hello All,

We have purchased a 2017 Crossroad 33RL , my questions is do most people install awning toppers on there side out???? I really hate to drill hole in the side of a new camper if all these thing do is keep leafs off the roof . we permanent camp so our slides our out most of the time.

Thanks in advance Dave

In my opinion they are more then worth the money.
They will help keep the slide out cooler in the summer. Also if the seals have been damaged or compromised at all they will help with leaks.
PLUS-they will keep leaves and sticks off the roof.

X2, couldn't of said it better. Well worth the investment especially for a unit on a permanent site.

When you install the awning , put the track on the camper side as high as you can get it ,probably just under the eavestrough. That will put a nice angle on the awning to allow water to not pool. Mine was installed to low in my opinion and water pools on awning .

Thanks for the replies, it sounds like it will be a good idea to install theses. One of our slides has a power awning on it from the factory so I'm not sure I can have a topper installed. but we would the other 2 slides. does anyone have a preference on brands? the one on from the factory are lippert brand
I have attached a pic to show were the power awning is located in reference to were a topper would bolt on.

Again thanks Dave

Without an awning and after a rain, if pooling does exist and you pull the slide in, you might end up with that pool of water all over your insides if not careful.

Ours were installed by the dealer when we purchased it. Would not be without them. We camp at state parks and it helps to keep debris off the top of the slides.
