Stopping mice at powercord

Might be worth mention, maybe not. I'm a tad concerned about the possibility of mice getting up into the trailer by climbing the 30amp power cord. I realize many are installing the detachable Marinco ParkPower kit but I find the cost a tad steep at $130.00 Canadian @ Amazon.ca. So what I did is cut a 2 inch by 2 inch 1/4 inch plywood, drilled a 5/8 inch hole and then opened the hole to outside perimeter with the bandsaw. When the cord is out just slide over the cord from the top and the extra hole space is covered/sealed. The bottom that looks open from the picture is sealed because of the inside frame for the trailer cover. I painted mine black, and made a couple incase old age looses. Cost was zero about.

This item will stop the critters coming in through the power cord. I don't remember where online I purchased it.

Before I had the detached power cord I would use a small piece of pipe insulation and cut a piece about 3". When the cord was out I would put the pipe insulation around the cord and close the plastic cover down around the cord. The insulation would completely close off the hole where the cord stuck out.

I've had a rat get into my old rig. I forgot to close the window for MONTHS. Ugh. Thankfully the rat didn't get out from under the dinette!
