Stove Ignition Modification

So I came across this modification on another website and thought it was the greatest one. So I did this yesterday and a quick 5-10 min mod had my stove set up with electronic lighter instead of the loud annoying click click ignition.

Bought the new lighter on Amazon,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and used the step drill to drill out the existing hole to allow the new lighter to fit.

Nice mod.... but since the wife considers the stove 'decorative' only.... probably won't be high on our mod list

It's a "duh, why didn't I think of this" moment. Great mod.

Nice, I am going to have to look into this one. My stove originally came without the rotary igniter. I spent over $100 just to do that mod so I wouldn't have to use a lighter. This'll be one step better.
Totally agree with having one for the oven pilot. Tired of having to get down on the floor to light that.

I don't know no but the one that came with the stove does not sound that loud to me. Maybe I am getting a little deaf in my old age!

The reason for that is if the oven door is closed and lite it would be big bang!

Finished the battery ignition modification yesterday. Don't know why I didn't think of it before as our house stove has a system like this built into all the gas valves.

I have seen where others have done this mod and have used an additional, longer lead to take care of the oven lighting. The igniter module just needs enough connections for the burners on top and one for the oven sparker. Just make sure the door is open when you light it!
