Telescopic ladder
We saw this today and figured it is just the thing for the RVer:
Home Hardware - 15-1/2' Aluminum Grade 1 Telescopic Ladder
It would be especially useful for those who's trailers do not have a ladder. How do you clean the stuff off the slide before leaving the campground?

I have a similar ladder I bought to take with me RVing. I kept mine to a 12.5 foot..don't need it any taller. With that said, these are all built the same. made in China. Functional, but do not expect these to be nice firm non-wobbly ladders. I would not buy one for frequent use, but to take with you on trips as a way of checking your roof or slide outs its just fine. Careful how much you spend on these. They are all built just about the same. The prices vary a great deal depending on who is selling them. I think Camping World was selling theirs for close to $200. I bought mine on Amazon for $85 with free shipping. Mind you that is for a 12.5 foot. The bottom rung kept slipping out of place on mine. Had to tighten all the screws on the ladder that hold the rungs in place and replace one that broke off when tightening. You also have to be careful when compressing these back down so you don't pinch your fingers. But to sum up, they are great for infrequent use and easy storage.

Hubby wants the 15.5 foot since we have have a 5er. Amamzon.com has a higher price for that. We will probably just get it locally at the Home Hardware, same place we got the backsplash.

Has anyone actually used one? I have seen them at CW for around $200 bucks. Seems a little pricey for a cheaply made ladder. I only really want something for checking slide roof at the campground. I have good ladders at home but no real convenient way to take with.

The guy who had one that we saw said that it is not good for very heavy people or for carrying heavy objects up the ladder, but for just climbing up and inspecting things or light duty stuff, he said it is great. My husband said he would not use the ladder to actually climb on the roof, as we have a regular one for that, but it would be great for checking caulking in higher areas or inspecting the roof or slides. Since we winter in Florida with the trailer, this is just the thing to bring with us.

Does anyone know why a ladder is not offered for the Sunset trails? Just curious-we are purchasing one and I thought it strange-or does Crossroads not want you on the roof? I've heard of the leak problems and want to keep an eye on all the seams and caulking.

They do not want you walking on the roof. It is constructed differently from trailers with ladders. The only way you and move around on the roof is to place a piece of wood large enough to distribute your weight.
To clean or inspect, you need to use another ladder. You can probably wash it that way. Our daughter did with hers.
