The used 2014 Rushmore Lincoln I purchased has toppers on four of the five slideouts. I asked about the uncovered fifth slideout, the wardrobe slideout of the bedroom. The guy selling it (not much confidence in them) said that it could not have a topper because it has a canopy. Well, only if they got in each others way. Does anyone have a topper AND a canopy on a slideout? The canopy is by Carefree, pretty much typical setup.
And besides the obvious reasons for a topper (shade, debris), I have the most infuriating leak THAT I CANNOT FIND. Facing the wardrobe, in the bottom outside right corner, the carpet will get damp enough to dampen anything like MY CLEAN AND DRY SHEETS(!) that happen to be in there. I've cut access holes in the paneling on the outside and side walls to inspect. The outside wall shows zero water damage, the side wall shows maybe a half inch of discoloration from water at the bottom. In short, nothing I am freaking out about, but still. I have Everseal tape on the top for the entire length of the outside seam, and I put Everseal tape over every seam and screw, both vertical and horizontal, on the side. I honestly have no clue now where the water is coming from! ARGH
! But a topper will likely stop it!
