Turning the converter off?

I just bought a Reserve 31BH. I'm looking at installing an inverter to go with my solar panels. I want to see if I can just plug in to the inverter with the RV cord, but to do so I need to turn off the converter so it doesn't try to charge the batteries. Anyone know what breaker turns it off but would allow me to still use the 120v plugs for TV and such?

What you are asking is dangerous and wrong. A wired-in inverter has a switchover box where some circuits are flipped from shore power to inverter when shore power is off and inverter is on. Some by relay, some manually. Which circuits? Converter - no. Outlets - yes. Microwave - depends. AC - would need a BIG inverter. You have the possibility of reversing polarity and upsetting the grounding of the GFCIs. If you want to get into this deep, you need to know more than just what circuit breaker feeds the converter.

I completely understand the use of an inverter and the power demand. There are several different ways to hook up an inverter. One is the plug in the RVs cord directly into the inverter. It is a well known way but the converter needs to be turned off so you aren't trying to recharge the battery through the cord while running the inverter. Not sure why you think this is dangerous and wrong.

Of course wiring this in would be the best option but I'll get to it someday.

I don't understand why you would want to shut the converter off.
They have automatic switch overs available for that job.
I guess if it was me and I had spent the time, money and energy to install the solar panels and a regulator, (which I have) and my next step was an inverter, (which isn't cheap). Then I would go the little bit extra it would take to get it setup with an automatic switch over, and not have to worry about it any more.
