I replaced original TV in 05 Silverado 36MS unit with new flat screen 26" Toshiba by welding up a swing bracket using 1/2" sq. tubing. I used a gate latch on one end to hold part of the weight when closed and have a pull knob to unlatch for opening. This gives us quite a bit of extra storage space behind the TV where I built a wine rack and storage for the wife's sewing machine and other craft items. So far it has worked real well. The Toshiba fits flat into the original opening width wise but I put in spacer board to fill in some heighth. Used oak and stained to match the orignal Cherry finish real nice.
