Upgrades and modifications

I removed one of the bench seats in our travel trailer and replaced it with two chairs. My seat was not comfortable and took up too much room. Hubby likes his seat so it remains. There are only 4 tiny screw holes in the wall from where the seat was attached and no glue was used. The unit came out in one piece and was fairly easy to do. If anyone wants to try this, be sure to take off the buttons that cover the screws on top of the padded strip. Once the screws underneath are removed, you have access to the front and back of the bench unit. There are three screws between the plywood that fasten to the wall and need to come out. I just pried the back panel out enough so I could remove the screws. I’m attaching some pictures to hopefully better explain what I did.

That's a very nice, and professional looking mod. Great job.

Thank you for your kind remarks. I did this without my husbands knowledge and I hope he feels the same as you when he sees it!

Nice job...Best of both worlds, half booth, and half free standing...Hubby should not be unhappy after all you kept half of the booth which as I read it was his half...

Looks very nice! Don’t let your husband sit in your chairs, or he’ll want you to do the same to his side.

Thank you! Hubby likes to sit in the corner of the booth with his legs stretched across the bench. Taking out “my” side really opened up that space and gives me room to store the vacuum and broom behind the couch. Makes for much easier access.

Thank you. The chairs are very comfortable and so much easier to get in and out of!
