I am wondering if I should use a travel trailer cover in the winter. I live in Ontario with lots of cold and snow. My trailer is stored outside but not under trees etc.
I keep in a barn but there are neighbours (neighbors for US friends) that cover and have no problems...watch out for the downspouts that stick out , they may puncture cover if you do not put a tennis ball or a chunk of foam over them.

Have heard BIG arguments over them
Sorta like Ford vs Chevy !!!
Some say they are like a bra on your car, the wind buffeting will wear the paint,
Some say they last no more than 3 years and are actual Dangerous to put on ...
I know this is an old thread, but I was curious to the reasons why? I assumed a cover was a "must" for winter, but I've seen several posts saying they're a bad idea, and I'd love to get some more info! Thank you!

Going into our 3rd year with a cover, and have nothing negative to say about it. To install it, I use 2 step ladders (one on each side of trailer) & simply keep alternating sides & moving step ladders along as I "roll" out the cover over the roof. Roof not very solid, I try not to step on it if I don't have to. This method has worked out great for me. When its time to remove cover, again with the 2 step ladders just roll it front to back & store cover away in garage till next winter. To install, "roll" it out back to front. A good cover is not cheap though, after 3 years mine has developed few tears around rear bumper & mostly the corners. (You can patch small rips with included repair kit)
