Well I personally prefer to use the RV antifreeze because I’m always afraid there will be a small amount of water in a joint or an L somewhere and will freeze somewhere in a wall etc. Also, the water pump can retain water and freeze; yea you can turn it on and try to force what water is left out but..... For the piece of mind and knowing I’m not going to have a burst pipe, I’ll spend the extra money each year and do it right.

I took advantage of the 75 degree weather yesterday to de-winterize/sanitize our travel trailer. However, the lows for 2 nights will be in the mid 20's on Sunday night, and Monday night. So I'm stuck with 3 options.

A.) Re-winterize with antifreeze
B.) Do nothing and pray
C.) At night turn on the heat/thermostat for 50 degrees for 2 nights.

I'm thinking option C. Any concerns leaving it overnight with propane? Our camper is on our rental property a few miles away.

Or just open all taps (including out shower)and open low point drains...and leave open. . Take drain plug out of water heater, flush toilet to relieve pressure. Have someone push little white button behind city water inlet while you run pump for a few seconds to get water out of city section. Maybe pour a bit of anti down traaps and Done.

I was also left with this option. Mine is 400 miles away. Weather was great when I left. Since then, we've had a few nights of 25 degree weather.
I drained the pressure and left the drains open.
So far, so good.
Not my first choice, but I guess I jumped the gun and flushed it out too early. At least for this year.

So I was a chicken $h!t. I re-winterized not wanting to risk it. Now I just need to figure out if I have to re-sanitize after purging next week when we go on our first trip of the season.
