Returned from the hunting trip to Montana. Weather was cold and snowy. Cruiser was great. Only had water freeze for short time on very windy cold day. Towed like it wasn't there.

Inflatable double high mattress is a great improvement over the couch/air mattress that we removed from the 5er. Enough room for four or five to sleep and meals for seven. Ceramic heater worked great during day to save propane. Non-hunting person was in camp during the day while heater was running. Kept constant temp, even at 20 degrees. great scenery and hunting success. More snow than we expected, but were able to hunt and get around in it most days. Hunted close to camp the blizzard day!!!

We are pleased with all aspects of our Patriot, a vast improvement over the Keystone we had before this. Storage was tremendous. Just can't say enough good things about Crossroads and the Patriot.

Will be putting it to rest for the winter, back out by April with some good weather. Hope the rest of us Northerns have a good winter and the rest of you enjoy camping in the warm places.

Glad your trip went well. Was wondering what the weather was doing in Montana as I watched it snow over three days here in Colorado. Like you, our rig is at rest under a light blanket (for now) of snow until no later than April. Hope to get out earlier as I'm aiming for 100+ days of camping in 2010.

I would suggest a summer trip and be ready for the winds. thought I was used to wind, having camped and hunted in Wyoming and Colorado. Discovered I didn't know anything about wind until we were in Montana last week. Thought we would have to toss out a couple of anchors one night. Well, we were in the mountains, on the top of the ridge and facing west. The forest roads were in reasonably good shape, so if you want to do some disperse camping, the Castle Mountains would be a good choice. And some great streams if you want to try fishing. We were about seven miles into the forest on FR211, which is also Fourmile Creek Road.

Give it a try.
