Winterizing for oldies, newbies or in between.

Well winterized my 2016 5er for the first time since I purchased it. I have owned 10 units in the past so I'm not new to winterizing. I live in the NW mountains of NC so it gets really cold in the winter. So, I probably use a little to much RV antifreeze because I'm like that. I first drain the hot water heater and fresh tank. Then drainlow point valves. I will bypass water heater, switch valve to winterize at water pump. Then I will put the hose in the antifreeze and turn on the pump. Then go to each fawcet and turn on cold until antifreeze comes out then turn off the cold and do the hot side. I only have a sink in the bathroom and the shower and toilet, sink in kitchen and outside shower. Also I will open low point until antifreeze comes out. So I will do this all around and then the paranoid person I am; I will redo again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. So I finished winterizing, switched the winterizing valve back so I don't forget in the spring and can't figure out why the water pump isn't pumping water, (Been there, done that) and closed the slides and turned off the battery shut off and put extra antifreeze away. Started walking down to the house from my building and realized I forgot to winterize to toilet. I'm only 51 but sometimes I wonder if I'm really loosing it. So I had to open the slide and set up the antifreeze with the pump to do the toilet. It may be time for a winterizing checklist. Last year a friend of mine who is 65 young forgot to winterize the outside shower for the first time and didn't realize it until water started spraying the first time he used it in the spring. So I guess the moral of this post is: Make a checklist no matter if your a newbie, oldie or somewhere in between.

I hope you pushed the little white thingy inside the city water intake to expell any water left there?

Actually I forgot to mention I also used 45 LBS of air pressure at the city water intake to blow out the lines before I use antifreeze. Yea, a little over kill I guess but that's just me.

Hi,do you own a 2013 ZF30RL, I need help to winterize it. The water system is not the same as video I was able to watch. The hose that is located at the pump to suck the antifreeze in send the liquid to the fresh water tank, also the hot water tank has no shutoff valve for the hot water line at the tank to by pass.

(just found the answer for the hot water line bypass "one way check valve at the tank")
