2014 Cruiser Lineup

Just checked out the new floorplans for 2014 for the Cruiser line. Not impressed with any of them. I see our model has been discontinued and I don't see a single floorplan that I would be interested in other than possibly the CF333RL. Not sure why the big changes - I don't really find many of the new ones to my liking. Hopefully we get ten years out of this rig and something like the Rushmore or Redwood are better quality by then.

I wonder if they redesigned them so they all use the new Schwintek slide system? Ours doesn't have any of those type and I'm very happy with that.

WWW, seeing that so many of the floor plans say "Preliminary", it will be interesting to see the final outcome. I agree with you on the CF333RL which looks a lot like the configuration of the CF34SS with the exception of the bedroom. The bed slide out on the 2014 allows for a washer/dryer prep. If we were full timing, that would be a consideration as I hate laundromats and they are expensive. Just my 2 cents.

We have the laundry prep in our bedroom in the 345RF. I liked the option for the future, but right now we are just using it for storage and the dirty clothes basket!

Do most people use the stackables or the one that washes and then dries?

New Cruisers

I was told they would be going to hydraulics for the slides and the leveling gear. I agree I don't much like most of what I've seen. But, with none of the accompanying info about size, weight, etc. cannot tell much.

As far as washers and dryers, remember you won't have a 3.7 washer or 7.2 cubic foot dryer. You will only have small units, so plan on spending lots of time doing laundry if you do get them. The only units I've seen that you can put a full-size washer and dryer in would be a toy-hauler. JMHO

I'd rather go to a Laundromat and have it all done in an hour or so once a week. Just something else to go wrong IMO. To each his own.

Travel well,
Jim

Jim, you make a good point about something else to go wrong. Although I abhor laundromats, they would be quicker in the long run.

Absolutely true, when we are on a job, the wives in RVs with washer/dryer are tied down for several hours every day inside the RV using them to keep up with the dirty clothes. The units aren't quiet so using them in the evening doesn't work very well if you want to watch TV or talk. Then problems with water leaks, poor drying, etc. The other wives can use the CG facilities and do a week's worth of dirty clothes in a couple of hrs.

DW and I often discuss how the washer would be a waste due to the limited size, but a dryer would be nice for drying towels. Especially pool and shower towels on humid summer days.

But think about the heat and moisture that would be in your camper. I saw a mod where someone mounted a tension rod from corner to corner in the shower to hold wet things. With the skylight, they should dry quickly. Just my 2 cents.
