Just bought my 33RLF and camped for the first time in it (in the blazing Florida heat).

In my last 5th wheel, I could close off the AC vents and direct the cool air where I wanted it. For instance, I could get more air into the bedrooms at night.

It appears that I can't do this with the Cruiser. I can change the direction of the air coming out, but I can't close off individual vents except for the main vent in the kitchen.

Am I missing something?

Because of this, I get very little air into the master bedroom and it gets quite warm.

Has anyone replaced these vents?

On my unit ('07) the vents have two plastic levers that will close (or mostly close) the vent opening. It sounds like they have changed this option(?).

I have two plastic tabs and move laterally, but they to little to stem the flow. They direct the flow, and I can rotate the whole vent to aid with the direction. I like to be able to close the vent if there's a way.

Have you tried closing the "Quick Cool Down" vent on the unit itself? The vent slides closed and is located in the living room area where the a/c unit is located.

Sure, this pushes more air, but between the back room (loft) and kitchen/living vents, it's pretty diffuse by the time it reaches the master.

In my previous 5th wheel, I could just close off a few vents to get the air I wanted into the master. I think I was spoiled! It sure gets hot down here!

I have used these AC vents in the past to close off one or two of the vents to re-direct the air flow. They screw closed to pretty much shut off the air flow at that vent. Hope this helps.

There is also a good possibilty you are loosing air flow in the vent system.I have had to seal theAC and Heaterducts on our old Cruiser and the Paradise Pointe when we got it. Edited by: Hunter11

Out of the three 5er's we'vd owned so far, only one of them directed enough A/C to the bedroom. That was our Zinger, of course, we froze when camping in the fall and temps dip into the teens at night.

We've tried everything short of installing a second A/C to no avail; we even had to sleep in the L/R one night to get any relief from the heat, when the temps didn't go below 70 degrees. We've decided that we're going to spring for the 2nd A/C next spring. Of course, by then we'll be back to our normal summer weather when we barely need A/C!!
