Annual inspection

Could I please get some info. on the yearly inspection. I was at the dealer today and I asked for the inspection because I understand I have to send a copy to CR. Two people in the service dept. of my dealer said there is no such inspection and they recommend to their customers a do it yourself twice a year inspection.
I have had many problems with my 34ss which is now 10 months old. Both left and right slides will not close completely. The tech said there was alot of rust on the under carriage and may have been in flood waters. Well I'm a seasonal camper in the Pocono mountains in Northeast PA. my site is on the side of a mountain no way it could have been in a flood. When I took delivery last week of March 2013 they just finished washing the unit when my wife and I arrived. We took it home about a hour and half ride. and found the propane storage compartment (both sides) and water heater behind the access door and complete underside were covered with road salt. This is my thought as to the rust. So back to the begining could i have some help on the inspection issue. Many thanks in advance.

Skip, I haven't bought a new rig for quite awhile. So things have probably changed. If you can't find any info in that pile of literature they give you when you bought the trailer pertaining to an annual inspection, I think I would call CR direct and ask them about it. Then you should have the correct answer.

Then, how about posting it here when you find out so everybody will know.

On the last page of your Owner's Manual you will find this document. It clearly states that you have to have an inspection or your warranty is voided. This applies primarily to the roof. You definitely need to call Crossroads because they are the ones in charge of your warranty, not the dealership.

Good luck.

Gee, I wonder what they would think if you had that kind of response in your former job. "Never heard of it" so I can't arrest the perp. Good grief, that is really bad for all of us who own Crossroads RVs and may come across this dealer. Where do you live?

Again, good luck.

Take the manual in and ask them to explain why they're not aware of this. I think they were just lazy and didn't want to do the inspection. They do get paid by Crossroads for this inspection though.

The form says that the inspections are at the owner's expense. Wonder if they are a courtesy at some dealers.

I got a call back from my dealer who wanted a photocopy of form so they could get reimbursed. This is for my Cruiser Patriot, and I don't remember seeing that it is my responsibility to pay for the inspection. When we get a thaw I'll go out to Rv and check it out.

Thanks, Mark. I copied from the website but my book could say something different. I will go out there tomorrow and see what mine says. Who knows!

I just did my final annual inspection on our 08 5er. crossroads does not pay for the inspection I did. It ran anywhere from 85.00 to 231.00 depending how much time spent rechaulking areas on 5er. My suggestion is to check all seams, windows, lights outside and rechaulk before bringing for inspection. To me it was worth the peace of mind. You will need to fax copy of invoice and form from manual filled out to Tara at 260-593-2815

I remember getting a certificate with my 9 point promise thing they did that gave me a 6 and 12 month free inspection. The inspection should be free, but the work you must pay for.

After checking in the Rv that was what I had. A a certificate for a free check up. Since I was under warranty, the resulting re-caulking of part of the cap was covered. And since I have the EW, it will cost me nothing in the future.

dealing with this issue right now due to a delamination..was also told that on page 10 of the owners manual it must be annually checked by the "Dealer" and registered with Cruiser or the warranty is invalid..was not told this by our dealer and I am sure they are not aware of it ..waiting for them to return my call about this issue as Cruiser has clearly washed their hands of this ...not happy at the prospect of a $3500. or 4000. repair at the end of two years
